Dubai

Dubai creek
Sandboarding
The city
7 Star hotel
Bling bling
On the way home, we spent 24 hours in Dubai. We did sandboarding, dessert 4x4, and a city tour. It is a amazing place. Luckily it is cool. The highlight was the sandboarding and 4x4. We all definitely think we would need alot more money to properly enjoy Dubai. Millions!!!

Leaving Egypt
We spent one more day in Egypt on our way back. Thanks to our guides John and Donna we had a wonderful time. We saw Tutankhannen(sp)s mask and artifacts form his tomb. The colors and gold blow the mind. We finished the day with a grat falafel meal and shopping in the market. Each merchant had a "special price for us".

Topi
Our last national park was the Masai Mara. A funny story. As we left the Serengeti, we stopped for a picnic breakfast. In the midst of all 6 of us at a table a mokey jumped up in the middle of us and stole Sho's apple right in front of her. Shoshanna screamed appropriately and the monkey smugly ate his prize from on high.
The evening we arrived we saw cheetah and lion. Also, an amazing thunderstorm. Our guide could have been better, but other than just missing a leopard we had a great time. The tented luxury camp we stayed in was great and had amazing food.

On safari
Day 2 in the serengeti was excellent game viewing as well. The highlight was coming on two lions off by themselves. We watched them for a while and they ended up mating righ in front of our vehicles. Amazing the power these animals have. It was a scene off of Animal Planet. Another fun thing here were the monkeys hanging around our lodge. Ken and Crystal saw an elephant and hippo from their room. We also heard the lions roaring at night.

Serengeti 1

The Savannah
Wildebeast migration
Siesta
Family fun
I needed my sling shot(flashbacks from childhood in Ivory Coast)
Our arrival in the Serengeti was awesome. First we passed through the wildebeast migration. There were grazing animals as far as the eye could see. Then we saw a ton of vehicles stopped ahead. A good sign on safari. We came upon a mother cheetah and older cubs who were stalking some antelope. They came right near the road. Phenomenal. Then we drove a little further and found the big lion above chilling on a large rock overseeing his terriroty. This all happened even before we got to our lodge. Game viewing at it's best.

Ngorongoro Crater

Antelope and Flamingos
The Crater
Bigeee
Zebra

Ostrich
The Ngorongoro Crater was one of our favorite places of the whole trip. The scenery is spectacular and wildlife prolific in a small area. As we entered the park, we came on a lion kill that had a group of buffalo defending there own. Further on we came upon the sluggish full lions with a couple of babies lounging on their mom. This was also the place where we saw rhino(from a distance) on this trip. We had a full crater view from our full wall window in our room.

Arusha/Lake Manyara

Arrival Arusha
Black and White Colobus
Arusha National Park
Masai Cattle Market
Giraffe
We arrived in Arusha with no safari scheduled. We srambled and were fortunate/blessed enough to hook up with a great driver and tour company. We spent the first day in Arusha national park and then a day at Lake Manyara. We saw our first lion there. Awesome. Watching the storms break over the savannah reminded us of storms in the midwest. Let it roll.

Spice Tour/Stone Town Zanzibar

Our guides
Spice tour/Lemon grass tea
Zanzibar Colobus
Stone Town
Sunset
Our last day in Zanzibar, we did a spice tour, jazanni forest tour, and spent the night in Stone Town. It was amazing how close we were able to get to the monkeys. The spice tour was just cruising along through little villages picking different plants to check out. It was neat seeing the spices that drove the trade of long ago. The day ended with a great sunset on the water.
